Crowther Celebrates Black History

As February came to a close, The Crowther Group reflected on another great Black History Month. The Crowther Group celebrated its Black colleagues during Black History Month by highlighting their voices in a video series.

Participants shared what Black history means to them and offered inspirational words to Black construction workers and the youth that Crowther serves every day.

President and CEO Thomas Crowther celebrated historical figures like Martin Luther King Jr. and local heroes, praising them for paving the way for him to have the opportunity to start one of the first minority-owned construction companies in the DFW area.

Thomas Crowther leads the company based on its core values, one of which is the diversity of people and opinions, an element that has been at the root of the company’s success and growth over the last decade.

“To learn from our African American friends and employees about their views and perspectives on Black history is how the dialogue starts, how we change our perspective, and how we learn,” stated Crowther.

Messages of unity and celebration were common themes in each video. They emphasized the importance of everyone coming together to celebrate Black excellence, not only during the month of February, but all year long. “The Crowther Group is Black History Month,” stated Field Operations Manager Brandi McDowell, reminding everyone of Crowther’s impact on the construction industry.
